Make room for the groom!

Grooms Cake - Wedding Events

Groom’s cakes can be traced back to England’s Victorian era when there were three cakes at a wedding — the wedding cake (served to the guests,) the groom’s cake, (served to the groomsmen,) and the bride’s cake, served to the bridesmaids.

Today, couples prefer to offer the groom’s cake at the rehearsal dinner since the groom’s family typically hosts that evening. Most groom’s cakes are made of dark chocolate with fruit and/or liqueur and is decorated with the groom in mind – a cake designed with a theme related to interests of the groom. Groom’s cakes are meant to have be fun and memorable!

To add to the fun, brides can celebrate the Victorian era legend that if an unmarried woman sleeps with a slice of groom’s cake under her pillow, she’ll dream of her future husband. Single bridesmaids are given a boxed slice of the groom’s cake, along with a light-hearted note about the tradition.
