Aikens Group Brings Economic Opportunity with New Hotel
As the opening of the new Hilton Garden Inn draws near, Aikens Group set to bring 50 full-time jobs to region.
The Hilton Garden Inn, located off Exit 12 and Apple Harvest Drive is now accepting applications to fill a variety of guest service positions including front desk, housekeeping, laundry, food and beverage leaders, servers and bartenders. According to the hotel’s General Manager, Cindi Rampulla, candidates can pick up an application at the hotel — “the entrance is a bit hidden for now because of the construction. But applications can be picked up [at the hotel] by turning onto the gravel road just beyond The Commons entrance,” she said, adding the most important qualities she’s seeking in an employee are “the ones that can’t be taught: smiling, friendly and service oriented.” The hotel’s expansive meeting space will seat up to 250+ attendees and will also feature a private board room for 12. Cristian Guzman, Director of Sales for the Hilton Garden Inn said the hotel team hopes to bring groups and events to Martinsburg that may have previously been held elsewhere in the state. “The overall size and contemporary elegance of these meeting rooms will be a cornerstone of the hotel. Hilton is known around the world for delivering the best and this hotel will be no different. It’s such a good feeling to know I’m part of this, part of this positive development in my own community.” Guzman, who lives in Jefferson County, will spend a week in Memphis, TN attending Hilton Garden Inn training for HGI Sales Directors. “I’m excited – I hear it’s intense, and that’s good. Standards are high with Hilton.” The Hilton Garden Inn is slated to open this fall. Visit the Hilton Garden Inn Website
